Harry Styles released his new album Kiss All The Time, Disco Occasionally on March 6th of 2026. This album reflects a total tonal shift for Styles, heavily featuring a more electronic/dance sound than any of his previous records. Fans think that this shift could have to do with the singer’s love of running and marathon preparation, as this seems like a perfect album to work out to, especially for a long marathon training session. The album opens with the song Aperture, where we hear Harry sing, “It’s best you know, what you don’t, aperture lets the light in”. This and the mantra “We belong together” tie the album to its core feelings of community and connection, and how vitally important they are. Other songs on the album include “American Girls”, which is not actually about the doll brand but instead is about Styles watching his friends fall in love with American girls, a sentiment that seems straight out of his 2015 bad boy and long-haired persona, where the hot topic was the new British boyband on the scene. “Ready, Steady, Go” is a fast paced bridge through the album as it leads into “Are You Listening Yet?” which declares, “If you must join a movement, make sure there’s dancing” and keeps the high energy dance beats flowing. Then we transition into “Taste Back”, which seems to be right out of an episode of The Summer I Turned Pretty, with its discussion of being lonely in Paris. Then we see the charm of Styles’ lyric writing with “The Waiting Game” with, “You try, and you always justify, Playing the waiting game, When it all adds up to nothing”. Then is a strangely emotional look at growing up with “Season 2 Weight Loss”, as Styles sings of “Holding, Holding out, Hoping you will love me now”.his melancholy combination of an upbeat backtrack and lyrics that feel intensely personal really flesh out the core of the album’s center and make the next song, “Coming Up Roses”, all the more powerful. In this next song, Styles uses the idea of backseat driving to convey an imagined discussion about his relationship with his partner saying, “Does all of this seem to be bringing us closer, Or am I back-seating your life, Judging while you drive”. The next two songs, “Pop” and “Dance No More”, bring the energy right back up and were electric moments during the Manchester One Night Only concert live streamed on Netflix, with the ending of “Dance No More”, “Gotta keep your feet wet, Respect, Respect your mother” becoming popular on sites like TikTok and Instagram due to the singer’s over-the-top dancing and movements during his live performance. Then “Paint By Numbers”, the second to last song, comes up on the listener almost too soon, and we are given a look at presumably some of the struggles Styles has faced after the death of his former bandmate Liam Payne in October of 2024. The lyrics, “It’s a lifetime of picking from one or the other, Kids with water guns, Watch them run, It’s a lifetime of learning to paint by numbers, watching the colors run” are believed to reference the water guns One Direction used to have on-stage at their concerts and in their “Live While We’re Young” music video, with the idea of watching the colors run being older Harry trying to reconcile his memories as a younger person and his life without them now. Finally, “Carla’s Song” is a song written for a friend, Carla, and is a beautiful outro to this new chapter of Styles’ life and album with, “I know what you like, you can hear it anytime, It’s all waiting there for you” giving the reader a new mantra to walk away from the album with, and something that we all should be reminding ourselves of much more often, especially as we grow and change much – like Harry himself has.
